Apache Chautauqua Coaching

1-12-09 Today I met my group for the first time. We had a nice discussion about our families as we tried to decide who to be for our Chautauqua. I enjoyed learning about the lives of my group, and tried to guide them with my story. We had a lot of laughs.

It had been awhile since I met with my Apache group, but upon my return, it was as if it had never been. Today my group filmed themselves as they practiced their stories. At first they were a bit nervous, but once we showed them how they looked on camera, they were able to relax and did much better. Next week I will video tape the whole class to be edited for a class gift. I know that all will turn out wonderful. When children perform for their parents, everything they do comes out great.

2/13/09- I really enjoyed every one's chautauquas, and can not wait to meet up with my student's next Thursday to get their reactions and input. I was glad that Valerie went after mine to lighten the mood. I hope to have pictures to add soon. Everyone was great!

4/30/09- I was a little sad that today was to be my last time to work with the Apache student's. I really feel that I learned more from them than they learned from me. What a treat to interact with these students in such a way. They really enjoyed telling their stories on camera, and I know that their families will love them as much as I did. I am looking forward to their family night next week.
